So that the medicine's work is not hindered — the directions of the Organon.
In §§259–261 of the Organon it is said that during treatment, things that can obstruct or confuse the action of the medicine must be avoided — such as strongly scented substances, camphor, excessive coffee and stimulating drinks, and the uncontrolled use of other medicines.
General hygiene supports the treatment: sufficient sleep, light and balanced food, clean air, and keeping mental stress as low as possible. It is good practice to give the patient a clear idea about these matters in advance.
One important point: no ongoing medicine given by another doctor may be stopped on one's own or without advice. If needed, the decision must be taken in coordination with the doctor concerned.
