General Rules for Using Homeopathic Medicines

Learn the common precautions usually followed for storing and taking medicine.

It is good to keep the mouth clean when taking medicine. It is generally advised to take medicine at least half an hour before or after food; however, your doctor's instructions are final.

Do not take the pellets in your hand; pour them into the vial's cap or lid and take them directly into your mouth. This keeps the medicine clean.

Keep the medicine in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight. Do not keep it near camphor, naphthalene, strong perfumes or essences.

A medicine selected for one person should not be taken by someone else on their own. Even if the symptoms match, the potency and dose may differ from person to person.

While taking medicine, if the symptoms suddenly worsen, new worrying symptoms appear, or an emergency develops, do not decide on your own — contact your doctor or a hospital.
